FAISALABAD – University of Agriculture Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan on Tuesday informed a seminar that all appointments of the teaching staff are being made on Tenure Track System (TTS) for the last four years.
Addressing a seminar on the Tenure Track System arranged at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, the vice chancellor said that the university believes that TTS would pave the way of prosperity as the system encourages the faculty to show their work as the matter of survival. In the university, 142 teaching staff members were working on TTS, he said.
He said it is prerequisite to ensure the quality education and to conduct valuable researchers to face up to the challenges of the modern era. “All appointments of the teaching staff are being made on Tenure Track System for the last four years,” the vice chancellor informed the gathering.
Addressing the seminar as guest of honour, Higher Education Commission Quality Assurance Division Adviser Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Khan made it clear that the tenure track system would remain intact, as this competitive teaching environment at the universities was the best choice for bringing the best brains and to create the atmosphere of competition in the teaching and research.
Dr Iftikhar said efforts were afoot to flourish the system by devising a concrete mechanism of the TTS faculty assessment and evaluation system based on disciplines. He said that committees had been set up for the said cause. UAF Registrar Muhammad Hussain was also present on the stage.
