Nisar assures full security to embassies, diplomatic staff

Security beefed up in ‘red zone’ after arrival of protestors

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali has assured that there is no danger to the security of embassies and high commissions as well as their staff members in the federal capital.

He said it was responsibility of the government to provide protection to the diplomatic staff in line with international law and police and FC was extending full security. During his visit to the diplomatic enclave, the minister made the comments after advisory issued by different countries to its citizens in Pakistan.

Nisar had all the praise for the police and FC staff. He said that the government has made necessary arrangements for the maximum security of the diplomatic enclave and diplomats in Islamabad were fully satisfied over it. On this occasion, the minister directed the police and FC to ensure security of the participants of the marches and ensure peace and order.

On the instructions of the interior minister, additional containers have been placed in the Red Zone, Margalla Road and the Constitution Avenue to beef up security after arrival of the ‘Azadi March’ and the ‘Revolution March’ in Islamabad. Rangers and the FC are deployed on important government buildings.
