Jamaat calls PTI, PAT demands positive

Siraj urges federal ministers to observe restraint

LAHORE – Jamaat –e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has called the electoral reforms necessity and need of the time and warned against any unconstitutional step on Saturday.

Talking to journalists after meeting Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar at Mansoora, he highlighted the need of an electoral system which ensures no rigging allegation after an election. Siraj said that all political parties believe in the supremacy of the parliament and the constitution.

He said that demands of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were positive and urged the federal ministers to observe restraint. Governor Sarwar lauded the role of Jamaat-e-Islami and called all political parties to join hands.

He called the media to avoid making a pitch which terms a party victorious and the other defeated. He lauded offer of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq for recounting of votes of his constituency. He said that the democracy was solution to all political problems.

The Jamaat leader said that the military also not wanting an unconstitutional change in Pakistan.
