ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned a high-level meeting on Thursday in Islamabad to discuss national security, a private television channel reported.
The channel reported that the meeting would review the on-going dialogue process with the Taliban. On regional front, political and security changes and presidential election in Afghanistan and relations with Iran will also be on the agenda, it reported.
Besides Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid and Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, top civilian and military leadership will also participate in the meeting.
The channel reported that heads of the armed forces, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and top intelligence officials will also attend the discussion.
