GUJRANWALA – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Javed Hashmi played a key role to defuse tension between activists of his party and Pakistan Muslim League-N in Gujranwala on Friday.
The PTI convoy heading towards Islamabad in connection with the ‘Azadi March’ was attacked by the ruling party workers. Hashmi who was leading the march riding a land cruiser was not troubled by the attackers, but they pelted stoned and bottles at truck in which party chairman Imran Khan was traveling.
The clash led to minor injuries to several activists belonging to both the parties. However, Hashmi who had already passed the avenue of clash when come to known about the situation returned back, came out of his vehicle, and held talks with the PML-N leaders.
The ruling party workers engaged in fight with participants of the march gave respect to their former leader and stopped pelting stones and chanting slogans against the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
