KARACHI – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has tasked Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali to start final dialogue with Taliban immediately.
The prime minister asked Minister Nisar to start final dialogue process with the Taliban by adopting a decisive policy. He directed him that if Taliban leadership gives a time and venue for direct talks than it should be held immediately without any delays.
He said that Taliban leadership should be asked for their final demands and if Taliban give a positive response to talks and stick to their pledges than the dialogue process could move to the next phase. Sources said if the Taliban fail to comply to their pledges than a final course of strategy would be devised and the option of launching an offensive would remain open.
In view of these instructions, influential government personalities have contacted the Taliban coordination committee and have told them that if Taliban Shura is serious in talks than they should meet directly and decide venue and time in one week time.
