KARACHI – The authorities have stepped up security at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi after recent attack which claimed 38 lives including security officials.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, five entry points of the airport will remain open only for the employees who will enter the airport after showing their identity cards, issued by the airport authorities. However, these entry points will remain closed for the passengers due to security reasons.
The passengers could only enter the Jinnah International Airport from the Shara-e-Faisal. Moreover, the scope of the investigations of the terrorist attack on Karachi airport is being expanded, as the authorities have decided to initiate search operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, tribal areas and Afghan tent settlements in the federal capital to look for the clues about the terrorists who took part in the attack.
