KARACHI – On the instructions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan International Airlines has decided to operate special flights to Libya to bring back the stranded Pakistanis.
The first Boeing 747 relief flight arrived on Thursday at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, carrying 500 stranded Pakistanis to their homeland. On their arrival at Lahore airport, PIA District Manager Muhammad Umer Draz, and other senior officials welcomed the passengers.
Stranded Pakistanis thanked the prime minister for his concern to bring back them to Pakistan and they also appreciated PIA for operating the flight in a war zone. PIA spokesperson said that more flights to Libya will be operated on the instructions of the government.
