High-level meeting to review security

Interior minister, ISI chief to brief Wednesday meeting at PM House about latest situation

ISLAMABAD – A high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be held at the PM House on Wednesday to take stock of the security situation and law and order in Pakistan.


The meeting would take into consideration the issues concerning resumption of dialogue or otherwise with Taliban, attacks against security forces by militants in South and North Waziristan and increasing acts of terrorism, official sources said here on Tuesday.


Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali and Inter-Services Intelligence Director General Zaheer-ul-Islam would brief the meeting about security situation. The meeting will also be attended by Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and top officials of security agencies.
