QUETTA: Unidentified armed men gunned down an activist of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) and injured two others during a shutter down in the provincial capital on Thursday.
The attackers opened fire at Manan Chowk of the city which left an activist of ASWJ dead and two others injured. The dead was identified as Khalil Ahmed while the injured are Zahoor Ahmed and Shezad.
The killing sparked fury among the activists of the party who staged a protest demonstration outside the civil hospital and blocked road for traffic.
The ASWJ had given the call for shutter-down strike against non-arrest of killers of its activists. All the markets, shops and centres of business remained closed during the day. Traffic on the roads was also thin.
