PM, ECP must resign; fresh polls be announced: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has demanded that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the existing election commission resign and fresh elections be held under a caretaker prime minister. He also called for an inquiry into the alleged rigging in the last elections by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. In a TV interview on Tuesday, Imran Khan laid out his future course of action and said he would continue his struggle till the last drop of his blood and attainment of justice. He said he has full confidence in Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Malik and whatever the decision of the court it would be totally respected. He said the August 14 Azadi March of his party would take place at every cost but he gave the assurance that it would be completely peaceful. He also affirmed that martial law would not be accepted in the country. Imran said that he had been demanding recounting of votes in four constituencies but Nawaz Sharif and his government did not listen to him and now they are offering talks. He said the offer of talks is not acceptable to him. He said talks would be held with the government after August 14.
