IHC rules reopening of twin cities' entry points

ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the government to reopen the entry points of twin cities blocked with containers ahead of two protest marches.

The IHC issued its ruling on a petition filed by president of the District Bar Association, directing the authorities to remove barricades and containers placed on main entry and exit points of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The court in its ruling described the blockade as violation of fundamental rights.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had issued similar directives to the Punjab government for removal of containers in the province.
