ISLAMABAD: The 17th Conference of the Speakers will be held in Islamabad from April 13 to 15. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will inaugurate the conference at the Constitution Room of the Parliament House. The moot will be attended by chairman and deputy chairman Senate, speakers and deputy speakers of provincial assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and speakers of legislative assemblies of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The secretaries of the provincial legislatures and legislative assemblies will assist their respective speakers.
The speakers, during the course of deliberations, will review the decisions taken at the 16th Conference of the Speakers besides deliberating upon issues concerning legislation, working of committees and other administrative issues of their respective houses and promotion of healthy parliamentary traditions in Pakistan. On the conclusion of the conference, “Islamabad Declaration” will be adopted.
The secretaries of the national and provincial legislatures and legislative assemblies met in Islamabad on April 3 in Islamabad and finalised the agenda for the conference.
