ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid has said that Pakistan values its relations with Iran and considered it a close friend and a neighbor, the Radio Pakistan reported. Speaking to the ceremony of National Day of Iran in Islamabad, he said that the canvass of our bilateral relations is wide ranging, encompassing political, trade, economic, and people to people contacts. The minister also disclosed two new border crossing points between both the countries would be opened soon. Speaking on the occasion, Iran’s Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost said that Iran wants to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic ties with Pakistan. Talking to the journalists outside the Parliament House, the minister said that the director general accountability commission of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has resigned against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan deceiving the people in the name of accountability. He said that the Justice (r) Wajeehud Din had parted ways from the PTI because Imran Khan was supporting those who had committed rigging in intra party elections. Pervaiz said that the Accountability Bureau in Islamabad is working effectively, independently and without any discrimination to achieve good results.
