ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday contacted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and exchanged views on negotiations with the Taliban.
Nisar proposed for inclusion the name of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak in the government negotiating committee. Imran Khan asked for some time to think over the proposal.
Sources said that in the wake of the contact between the two leaders, a meeting between Imran Khan and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was also expected.
They said that Chaudhry Nisar contacted the PTI chief on the instructions of the prime minister. It is learnt that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) wants to take the PTI onboard on the issue of the Taliban and peace talks.
