ISLAMABAD: The three-member special court trying against former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf for high treason on Wednesday recorded the statement of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Deputy Director Khalid Rasool as witness who appeared before the court and recorded his statement. The court adjourned the hearing till August 5.
The special court headed by Justice Faisal Arab of the Sindh High Court and comprising of Justice Yawer Ali and Justice Tahira Safdar resumed the hearing of the trial against the former military dictator.
FIA Deputy Director Khalid Rasool informed the court of the receipt of the DVD of Musharraf’s speech from PTV aired on December 6, 2013 and collected other relevant record and documents concerned from the Ministry of Defence, the Cabinet Division and other related offices and handed over these documents to the FIA team head Khalid Qureshi.
Rasool informed the court that a CD regarding Musharraf’s November 3, 2007 declaration of emergency was also received and forwarded to FIA Director Khalid
Qureshi. He further stated in the court that all the documents collected by him were handed over to the FIA team investigating the high treason trial against the former military dictator. He added that it was his prime duty to collect the documents and other relevant record.
