ISLAMABAD – Condemning the latest drone strike in North Waziristan tribal agency, Pakistan on Thursday said that these are against the national integrity and violation of sovereignty of the country.
In her weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said that the drone strikes were also harming Pakistan's efforts against terrorism. She said that Pakistan has succeeded in generating strong public opinion against drones.
“We have witnessed increasingly emerging consensus among international community against drones,” she said. Pakistan's position on drone strike was very clear as Pakistan considered these strikes as violation of its security, integrity and sovereignty, she said.
The spokesperson said that these attacks were counterproductive especially during present military operation in the tribal areas to eliminate terrorists from the area.
