ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad on Friday while accepting exemption plea of former military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s non-appearance in the court in the judges detention case was directed him to appear on August 29.
The ATC Judge Ateequr Rehman heard the case and Rashid Qureshi informed the court during proceedings that former president would appear in the court on the next hearing and Musharraf’s fresh medical certificate was presented in the court. Former president’s counsel Safdar Javed Malik pleaded the court that his client was advised by the doctors not to travel as he was under treatment.
Amir Nadeem Tabish argued that Musharraf had several times previously used his medical condition’s excuse and did not appear in the court deliberately while objected the medical certificate that it be rejected. The court accepted the exemption plea and adjourned the case hearing till August 29.
