KARACHI – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that it was the need of the hour to resolve all political issues through process of dialogue and mutual understanding.
Talking to Federal Minister for Finance Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar via telephone, he said that political differences must not lead to a point of no return, said a statement issued by MQM here on Friday. The statement said that the MQM chief discussed overall political and economic situation of Pakistan with the minister.
Senator Dar extended invitation to the MQM for attending the National Security Conference being held on Saturday, it said. On the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the federal government want to resolve all issues politically by holding dialogues and the National Security Conference was a step in that direction, the minister said.
The minister also expressed gratitude to Altaf Hussain for the arrival of the MQM delegation for meeting the prime minister and the principled stance taken by the MQM, it said. Dar praised the role of MQM and Altaf for promoting democracy, strengthening of parliamentary institutions and for upholding of the constitution, the statement concluded.
