QUETTA: The Frontier Corps killed 30 militants and destroyed eight to ten camps in an operation in Paeroth area of Kalat District on Monday, said Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti.
Addressing a press conference, Bugti has said that the Frontier Corps (FC) launched a search operation in Paeroth. “At least 30 miscreants were killed and 10 FC personnel sustained injuries during the operation. The injured FC personnel are being shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta,” Sarfaraz Bugti said. He said that slain miscreants were involved in attacks on passenger trains and security forces, while the camps were being used for terrorist activities in the province.
Responding to a question about the names of killed miscreants, the home minister said that they all belonged to foreign-funded defunct organisations and were responsible for various terror attacks in the province. “The government of Balochistan has a very clear policy that whoever challenges the writ of the government, kills innocent people or attacks security forces, the provincial government would take strict action against them,” he said, adding that today’s operation was the part of our policy.
He further said details of the operation and names of militants would be presented before the media later. Replying to a query about a helicopter crash in Kalat, the minister said that it wasn’t used in the operation.
