AML moves top court against metro bus project

ISLAMABAD – Awami Muslim League President MNA Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Saturday filed petition against Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus project in the Supreme Court.

In his petition, Sheikh Rasheed said that it was an urgent matter of public importance which affects citizens of Rawalpindi and the federal capital, namely the Metro Bus Project, which has been launched in twin cities. He said that the project was based on corruption and traders on the Benazir Bhutto Road have faced billion rupees loss due to construction of the project.

He said that the beauty, environment and green belt of the unique city of Islamabad were all threatened by the manner in which the project was being bulldozed in violation of all laws, rules and regulations.
