Security official among 5 killed

QUETTA: As many as five people, including an official of the Balochistan Constabulary (BC), were killed and four others injured in different acts of violence in Balochistan on Sunday. According to reports, unidentified armed men opened fire in Killi Kamalu, Sariab, a suburb of the provincial capital, which left two persons dead on the spot. Police rushed to the site shortly after the incident and shifted the bodies to the hospital where they were identified as Ghalib Hussain and Nisar Ahmed. The cause of the killing was stated to be an old enmity. Panic ran through the area following the incident. Police handed over the bodies to the heirs after completion of legal formalities. Police registered a case into the incident and investigations are underway. On the other hand, an official of the Balochistan Constabulary (BC) was gunned down in Kuchlak, a precinct of the provincial capital. According to the reports, unknown armed men, ridding on two-wheelers, opened fire on Chaman Highway which left BC personnel Muhammad Ashraf badly injured. He was shifted to the hospital soon after the incident where he succumbed to his injuries. The dead body was handed over to the family after the legal formalities. Separately, two persons were killed and four others were injured in a deadly clash between two groups in Sherani district of Balochistan on Sunday. According to the reports, the dispute rose between the two groups over cattle stealth which spiraled into armed clash between them. Talking to media, DC Sherani Saeed Ahmed Umrani confirmed that 1 person from each group was killed in the incident and the district administration took the control of the area after receiving information of the clash. “However, no arrests have been made so far,” he added. The deceased were identified as Jamal u Din and Haji Sheerin Sheerani while the injured were as Roz uddin, Muhammad Hashim, Sardar Khan, and Gul Baz. All belonged to Sherani tribe.
