PTI questions FBR pardon to Najam Sethi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Shireen Mazari asked questions from Najam Sethi and the PML-N government as why did the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) first issued a notice of tax evasion to Najam Sethi Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and then pardon the same evasion on the flimsiest of grounds after he was rewarded for his role in “35 punctures” of May 2013 elections. She also questioned that as being the caretaker Chief Minister (CM) of the Punjab Province why did he retain the heads of the provincial health, education and revenue departments when he transferred all the others to establish “neutrality” in the general elections of May 2013. Shireen Mazari asked why he maintained that he was working for PCB without any remuneration when in fact he is receiving payment from PCB and the media has revealed a copy of one cheque payment for Rs 2.698 million. She pointed out that now TI Pakistan has also demanded the FBR look into Sethi’s tax evasion. Sethi’s shenanigans clearly reveal his active complicity in rigging in the May 11, 2013 General Elections and she claimed that explains the PMLN government’s desperate attempts to restore him to his lucrative PCB job whenever a court order suspends him from the same.
