Arsalan approaches ECP for Imran's nomination papers

Ex-CJ’s son says he has no political agenda

ISLAMABAD – Arsalan Iftikhar, son of former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, on Monday approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for acquiring the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.


Talking to journalists outside the Election Commission after meeting with ECP secretary, he said that he has submitted an application to ECP for acquiring the nomination papers of Imran Khan to submit reference against him as he concealed truth in the nomination papers.


He said that the PTI chief was not fulfilling the Article 62 and 63 of the constitution by concealing the facts from the nation in the papers. To question, he said soon after acquiring the papers, reference would be filed against Imran Khan in the ECP for his disqualification.


To another question, he claimed he would also brought legal documents from abroad related to Imran Khan. Arsalan said that his father – Iftikhar Chaudhry – was also consulting the legal team to take legal action against Imran Khan for levelling allegations.


To a question, Araslan said he has no political agenda. To another query, he said that he would not accept senate ticket from the Pakistan Muslim League-N if offered.
