ISLAMABAD - Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk took oath as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan on Friday.
Justice Jawwad S Khawaja administered the oath to Justice Nasir ul Mulk who is most senior judge of the Supreme Court after the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani. Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk will act as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan during the absence of CJP who is proceeding to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah.
The ceremony was attended by the judges of the Supreme Court, attorney general of Pakistan, president of Supreme Court Bar Association, senior lawyers and law officers of the federation and provinces, officials of Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan and Federal Judicial Academy. Supreme Court Registrar Syed Tahir Shahbaz conducted the proceedings of the oath taking ceremony, also attended by officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
