KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has directed the IG Sindh Police and DG Rangers to take severe action against the miscreants involved in street firing and trying to close down the markets and business centres of the city forcibly.
He directed the forces to provide full protection to the traders, businessmen, shopkeepers and transporters at any cost. He warned the police investigation officers to undertake proper investigation of the cases of heinous crimes before submitting same for challan in the court and made it clear that Sindh government would not leave the targeted operation against the terrorists, kidnappers, target killers and extortionists merely at the risk of poor performance of police investigation officers.
He directed the provincial ministers and top administrative officers to be present in their offices, keep their doors opened for the poor people.
Paying surprise visit of the Sindh Secretariat, police stations and markets and business centres at parts of the district South, East, West and Central of Karachi, he said absence of the officers was causing difficulties for the people who come across the province for redressal of their grievances.
Later Chief Minister took round of the different parts of the city, which include Saddar, Electronic Market, Tibet Centre, Jamia Cloth, Light House, Boultan Market, Memon Masjid, Tower, Mauripur Road, Gul Baee, Shershah, Site Industrial area and also paid surprise visit at Nazimabad Police Station and inspected the investigation record of the cases of target killing including murder of principal of a private school.
He directed the police officers to submit complete investigation report of murder cases to him with 24 hours.
He took round of different parts of Nazimabad, LiaquatAbad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Hassan Square, National Stadium Road, Karsaz Mohammd Ali Society and also took lunch at the Kaybees Restaurant at Muhammad Ali Society with common clients of restaurant where he met with citizens and businessmen.
Talking the media outside the restaurant he said he has directed the IG Sindh Police and DG Rangers to take stern action against the miscreants who were getting the markets closed forcibly on gunpoint. He directed the law enforcement agencies to arrest such elements and challan them in the Anti Terrorist Court.
