KARACHI: At least five people including four of two separate families were found dead from different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday.
In the first incident, a man and his daughter were found dead inside their residential apartment in Gulshan-e-Iqbal within the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station.
Police rushed to the crime scene and shifted the bodies to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. They were identified as 90-year-old Agha Muhammad Hassan Jamal Siddiqui, son of Muhammad Saleem Siddiqui, and his daughter Khalida Mumtaz, 60. Police said that both the victims were stabbed to death and the murder weapons - a dagger and knife - have also been recovered. Police further said that initial investigation suggests that the incident occurred in a robbing bid as cash, jewelry and other valuables were missing from the flat. No case has been registered, however, further investigations are underway.
Similarly, a mother and her son were found dead from inside their residential apartment located within the vicinity of Sacchal police station.
Police said that deceased were identified as Hafeeza Bibi, 60, wife of Haji Mehmood and her son, 30-year-old Hafiz Bashir. The incident came into notice when neighbours informed the police. Their bodies were transported to the hospital for post-mortem. Police while quoting the doctors’ initial findings said that the victims died after consuming some poisonous substance, both the victims lived alone. It has not been ascertained whether they committed suicide or were murdered. The case was registered and further investigations are underway.
Separately, an unidentified man was found dead near Murghi Khana bus stop in Quaidabad area within the jurisdiction of Shah Latif police station.
Police reached the site and shifted the body to the hospital for autopsy and later moved to morgue for identification. Police while quoting initial investigations said that deceased was killed after kidnapping.
