KARACHI: The federal government has contacted the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leadership and formally invited it to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.
A statement issued from London Secretariat on Tuesday said that the federal government contacted MQM and invited it for a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. MQM accepted the invitation and a high-level MQM delegation would meet Nawaz Sharif on Thursday noon at PMs House in the federal capital, the statement concluded.
Meanwhile, the Coordination Committee has also convened an important meeting of all MQM parliamentary groups here on Wednesday evening in view of prevailing political situation in the country. As per ongoing political analysis, it may be noted that in a recent statement, MQM chief Altaf Hussain had said that Prime Minister should relinquish post if he feels that protest demonstration could cause damage to life and property of people. He had also stated that do meaningful dialogue to remove small and big differences. He had also appealed in an emergency to Pakistani people, leaders of political and religious parties and the federal and provincial rulers to save Pakistan.
