LAHORE – The Punjab Assembly passed a resolution on Wednesday passed a treasury benches’ condemnation resolution against the Panama Leaks during the opposition’s protest and walkout from the House with the demand of resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The treasury resolution was tabled by Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah in which the House admired Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s decision to constitute an investigative the judicial commission headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to probe the allegations leveled by Panama Leaks. The treasury resolution termed the Panama Leaks as a baseless, conspiracy and wicked leaks and also condemned all efforts of holding protests and creating political crisis on it. All the 72 treasury members including some provincial minister including Rana Sanaullah, Dr Ayesha, Ashfaq Sarwar, Chaudhry Sher Ali and Khalil Tahir Sindhu. Some of the parliamentary secretaries including Rashida Yaqoob, Nazar Hussain Gondal and Ali Ashgar Manda present in the House at the moment unanimously “Eyes” the resolution. Earlier, Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed on a point of order demanded a resignation from the prime minister on the issue of Panama Leaks. He urged the Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal to take up his resolution on it out of turn following the rules of business of the assembly. Meanwhile, the female members of the treasury benches started hue and cry on which the opposition members legislators also stood on their benches and started chanting slogans against the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif alleging them for stealing national exchequer and money of poor tax payers of Pakistan. In response, treasury members chanted slogans against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan as an agent of Jews. Later they walked out from the House for a time being in which the treasury succeeded to manipulate, moved and passed it resolution when the quorum was not complete as 24 members of the opposition were absent and only 72 members of the treasury were sit in the House. Pertinent to mention here that before starting the assembly session, a resolution on the issue of Panama Leaks in which resignation of the prime minister was demanded was filed by the opposition Leader in the assembly secretariat. In his resolution, he also rejected the judicial commission headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court demanding a commission to probe the allegations in Panama Leaks against Sharif family of the prime minister should be comprised on sitting judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
