ISLAMABAD - The report on floods in Punjab was submitted to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday confirming 30 dead and 50 injured along with huge damage to property.
The report mentioned that most incidents of loss of lives and property took place in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala and Faisalabad. It said that army was carrying out rescue and relief operation in the affected areas while authorities were closely monitoring flood levels in all rivers.
The prime minister expressed grief on the death of people and damage to property. He directed National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and all relevant departments to provide requisite resources to help the people in distress. He directed the NDMA chairman to remain in the flood-hit areas and monitor and coordinate all activities.
