ISLAMABAD – Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali on Saturday held a five-hour long meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, as he reached Raiwind near Lahore along with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, a private TV channel reported.
Quoting Pakistan Muslim League–N sources, the channel reported that Prime Minister Nawaz was ‘successful’ in eliminating some grievances of the interior minister and deadlocks which remained would soon be addressed.
Nawaz has tasked Shahbaz Sharif with eliminating grievances of other PML-N members, the channel reported. MNA Hamza Shahbaz also accompanied the interior minister and his father – the chief minister.
On July 4, Shahbaz took Nisar with him to Lahore from Islamabad after he failed to appease the later in a one-on-one detailed meeting. A delegation of 25 PML-N members also visited the Punjab House and tried to pacify the minister who is currently having differences with the main leadership over ‘some’ issues.
The news channel reported that the reasons for Nisar’s annoyance include non-compliance of the national security policy prepared by him, by-passing him during the process of peace talks with Taliban, not taking him into confidence over budget matters and the decision of the Waziristan operation.
