MITHI – Civil Surgeon Civil Hospital Mithi, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Bhurgri has blamed a section of media of misreporting regarding deaths of children in Tharparkar and said that news of demise of three children was repeated while name of a child was quoted as two separate incidents.In a press statement issued here on Thursday the civil surgeon said that some newspapers reported February 3 and February 4 deaths of three children- namely Anil son of Aatam and Bhaveeta daughter of Teekam Das- as fresh casualities while those were already reported in the media. A 13-day old child Anil son of Aatam died due to low birth weight and neonatal sepsis but some newspapers reported it death of two children quoting Anil Kumar and Anil son of Aatam were two different children, he said.He said that during previous 24 hours one child death occurred at civil hospital Mithi of Nazakat son of Sohrab who breathed his last at 8:15 in the morning. He said that all basic health care facilities were available at the civil hospital, patients were being looked after properly and they were being provided with all health care facilities with any cost.
