ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi's resignation has been accepted by Speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Thursday.
Javed Hashmi had announced during his speech on September 2, 2014, that he wanted to resign from his seat in the National Assembly. Javed Hahsmi had won the election in NA-149, Multan, during the general elections 2013 on the PTI ticket.
Hashmi had developed some differences with the PTI Chairman Imran Khan on the issue of the ongoing sit-ins in Islamabad. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq accepted Hashmi's resignation today and his name was removed from the NA website.
It was pertinent to mention that the PTI members had tendered their resignations on August 22. However, none of the resignations have yet been accepted other than Javed Hashmi's.
To a question by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Maulana Fazalur Rehman, Speaker NA told that he wanted to confirm from the PTI members whether their resignations were submitted on their will or they were forced to resign.
