LAHORE – Eminent lawyer and former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jehangir has said if anyone could become the prime minister by bringing 5,000 people on the Constitution Avenue then she was also prepared to do so.
In an interview, she said that those who claimed to be loyal to the law and the constitution before the courts did not even recognise the parliament. She said that she was failing to understand whether Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan was really unable to understand the whole scenario or he was pretending to be ignorant.
Asma said that such a sit-in could not be staged in front of 10 Downing Street. She said that it was yet to be decided whether the rigging in the general elections was individual phenomenon or it was organised.
She lamented that due to the lack of political education and training people of the calibre of Justice (retired) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim were being subjected to severe criticism.
