QUETTA/KOHAT: A Frontier Corps (FC) personnel was killed and another injured in a bomb blast in Bolan district of Balochistan on Saturday.
An FC spokesperson told media that FC personnel were patrolling the area when an improvised explosive device exploded, seriously injuring two men inside the vehicle. Troops reached the crime scene and shifted the injured to CMH in Quetta.
The injured personnel were identified as Azmat Ali and Akbar.
“One of the personnel succumbed to his injuries on arrival at the hospital,” the spokesperson said.
According to the sources, the security forces launched a search operation in the area after the incident.
No group has claimed responsibility for this attack so far.
In a separate incident, a bomb blast took place outside the house of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) politician Nasim Afridi in Kohat. It was a planted bomb fixed to the gate of the house and the explosion was so loud that it was heard in many nearby areas, Station House Officer Gul Janan Khan said.
Police reached the site and cordoned off the area for investigation.
Nobody was injured in the incident, however, main gate of Afridi’s house was damaged in the blast.
