PPP submits motion in NA over spying by US

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Thursday submitted a calling-attention notice in the Senate against the National Security Agency (NSA) of the US for spying on it. PPP’s parliamentary leader in Senate Mian Raza Rabbani along with senators Farhatullah Babar, Saeed Ghani and Sardar Ali Khan signed the calling-attention notice to draw the attention of minister of foreign affairs to this issue. The news item stated that the NSA was allowed to spy on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), they noted, and described it a matter of urgent public importance which needs to be discussed in the House. PPP spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar strongly condemned the move and termed it a violation of international law. Leader of opposition Syed Khursheed Shah said the US has no right to spy on any party or individual and said that the PPP will write a letter to the US embassy in this connection.
