PM orders appointments in ASF

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday gave approval to the Aviation Division to recruit assistant sub-inspectors of police (ASIs) and constables of the Airport Security Force (ASF) on 540 vacant posts. The prime minister directed the Aviation Division to ensure best training of the recruits, as per international standards. Meanwhile, PML-Zia President and MNA Ijazul Haq met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. The premier sought his cooperation against the challenges being faced by the government, including the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan, internally displaced persons and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s threat to launch a “million man” long march on Islamabad on August 14 if the government fails to accept within a month its demands relating to fairness of elections.
Meeting with Haq was part of a series of meetings that Nawaz has started with various political leaders, a source in the Prime Minister’s House said. Ijazul Haq assured full support to the government in overcoming the current challenges and showed his willingness to do his best in order to secure the greater national interest.
