QUETTA: Lawyers boycotted high and sessions courts on the second consecutive day on Thursday to protest kidnapping of judicial magistrate of Ziarat.
The boycott call was given by lawyers’ organisations to protest against the kidnapping of Judicial Magistrate Jama Saka Dashti. The boycott call has been extended till Friday (today).
The sessions court presented a deserted look due to boycott of lawyers and litigants faced numerous problems.
Talking to the media, lawyers’ leaders Syed Nazir Agha and Muhammad Asif Reki said that discriminatory attitude had been adopted towards lawyers as various of their colleagues had been either killed or abducted. They said that neither judges nor lawyers were safe, as three judges had been kidnapped so far. They said that the kidnapping of Ziarat judicial magistrate was regrettable.
“This makes judges and lawyers feel insecure,” they said and added that they would raise their voice against this on a united front.
