ISLAMABAD: Women parliamentarians of major political parties have said that democracy is the only way for country’s progress and a few thousand people cannot derail democracy in the country.
Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, Pakistan People’s Party MNA, Nafisa Shah said, “The people of Pakistan voted in favour of democracy in the elections and her party would continue its struggle for the rights of masses.”
She urged the government to resolve the issue through dialogue and major political parties were united under the umbrella of democracy.
Nafisa Shah said, “The PTI chief Imran Khan should clarify his agenda behind the long march slogans.”
Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) MNA Naeema Kishwar Khan said, “There was no room for politics of slogans and sit-ins in the country.” She said, “If there was a revolution, it will come only through democracy and thousands of people could not make hostage the mandate of millions of people.”
Naeema Kishwar Khan said, “All serious political parties including religious parties believed in democracy and were acting responsibly.”
Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) MNA Naseema said, “Political parties had learnt lessons from the past and now they were endeavouring for stabilising the democracy.”
She said, “Her party always supported democracy and would continue its struggle for the democracy.”
