Minister believes PTI’s involvement in assaulting parliament

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar on Wednesday criticized the speech of Parliamentary leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi, saying that he has tried to create confusion about the ongoing negotiations between the government and the PTI.

Speaking on a point of personal explanation regarding the speech of the PTI leader, Dar said that the prime minister was persistently updating the parliamentary leaders about developments of talks with the PTI. He said that the prime minister has also written a letter to chief justice of the Supreme Court for constituting a judicial commission to probe the rigging allegations.

He said that two out of six points of the PTI had already been incorporated in the commission. The minister said that 33 members Parliamentary Committee for Electoral Reforms have already started working for introducing electoral reforms. He said that the seven point working paper prepared by the PTI had not been circulated in response to the wishes of the PTI.

Dar said that working paper prepared by former law minister Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, were the script of new Pakistan - written by the older people. He said that the PTI had already been told politely that the point of the prime minister's resignation was non-negotiable as it had backing of the entire parliament.

He said that the PTI was involved in assaulting the parliament and PTI chief Imran Khan had congratulated Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri for attacking the parliament and Pakistan Secretariat.
