ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday said that resignations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members have been withheld for verification.
To a point raised by JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman during his speech at joint sitting of parliament regarding delay in acceptance of resignations of PTI members, the speaker said, “When resignations were tendered, I was not in my office. Therefore, I am verifying whether these resignations were submitted voluntarily or under pressure. It is my responsibility to verify.”
He said another reason in the delay was the ongoing reconciliation process. “I was expecting if they could come back to the House, but, what will be the decision of this House, will be my decision,” he added.
About using unethical language against the speaker and adopting a rude behaviour to his office, he said there might be some shortcoming in their upbringing.
