ISLAMABAD: Senior PML-N leaders called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, currently in Murree, to meet his close aide, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to discuss the confronting issues of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Azadi march and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) Inqilab march.
Sources said that the prime minister held consultation on Saturday with the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Railway Minister Saad Rafique, Ishaq Dar and Chaudhry Nisar and close party leaders seeking their opinion to deal with the upcoming political scenario. The top PML-N leaders mulled over a strategy to cope with PTI and the prime minister will hold discussion regarding demands of the PTI Chairman Imran Khan during the meeting with the interior minister. Sources further said that Ch. Nisar has always been tasked to take measures persuading the adamant Imran Khan to avoid taking extreme steps and settle matters amicably.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan has asked PTI’s MNAs to submit their resignation ahead of their scheduled long march on August 14.
