KP sends packing minister, adviser

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government on Thursday dismissed a minister and an adviser over “poor performance”.
Provincial government spokesman Shah Farman said this would be a “constant process” to keep ministers under check for meeting targets. “The two... were removed purely for performance reasons,” Shah Farman told Daily Times. The dismissed minister was identified as Shaukat Yousafzai, who was earlier removed as health minister and given the industries portfolio, while the removed adviser has been identified as Yasin Khalil. “Both the party and the government made this decision,” the provincial government spokesman said, adding that the two party MPAs might be asked to take some other responsibilities. The PTI government earlier broke its alliance with the Qaumi Watan Party over corruption charges.
