KARACHI – At least seven bodies were recovered during early hours of Monday from Manghopir area of Karachi whereas a senior police officer was also gunned down in Korangi area.
A superintendent of police (SP) was shot dead by unidentified men in Bilal Colony of Korangi. The victim police officer was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital. While all seven bodies found near Ijtima Ground in Manghopir were bearing torture marks.
The victims had their hands and legs tied up with ropes. All the victims were kidnapped and later tortured to death, according to the police. The police also confirmed that three out of the seven deceased hailed from Swat and were members of a banned militant organisation.
Rescue teams stated that the victims were shot in the head as well as in the chest. The bodies – which have not been identified yet – were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, as the police started investigation to trace out killers.
