ISLAMABAD – Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali on Wednesday asked the retired army officers to be very careful while making statements about the current sensitive situation in Pakistan.
While answering questions of journalists about statement of former ISPR director general Athar Abbas, the Interior minister said wisdom and prudence demand that those people who were involved in important decisions should be secretive as it would be good for the nation and the country.
In this age of media, he said any little slip of tongue can create an adverse situation. At this stage of history, bringing into open decisions of the current or former leadership of military in this way can create difficulties but cannot be helpful in providing solution, he added.
The minister appealed to the media to show restraint in making this statement a topic of discussion at a time when Pakistan direly needs unity.
