Pak-China military relations will grow further, says CJCSC

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Military Attache Major General Qi Huajun hosted a reception to mark 87th anniversary of founding of Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) here on Friday.
Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Rashid Mahmood was chief guest while the reception was largely attended by the senior military and civilian officials including Chairman, Senate Defence Standing Committee, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Asif Sandila and US Ambassador to Pakistan, Richard Olson. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Sun Weidong received the guests. Speaking on the occasion, General Rashid Mahmood highly praised Pakistan’s military and strategic partnership with China and said it stood the test of the time. 
He expressed the hope these relations will further grow with  the passage of time to meet the common aspirations of their people.  Pakistan, he said, is proud of its strategic partnership with China, particularly in the defence sector, adding, “We deeply value these relations and believe these contributed well to peace and stability in the region.”General Rashid also praised the PLA and said it played a leading role in promoting stability and development of its country, adding, it also contributed immensely toward peace and harmony at the world level.   
He said the PLA has been instrumental in strengthening country-to-country relationship for mutual progress and development. The Chinese Military Attache Qi Huajun said the PLA developed itself as a modernized force and played a great role in maintaining peace and stability at the regional and international level. 
The Sino-Pak strategic partnership progressed well over the years, and still it has great potential to grow further, he said and added, the government of China attached great importance to its diplomatic and military partnership with Pakistan. 
General Qi Huajun expressed his pleasure that he got promotion as major general while working in Pakistan and added, he wished to act as a bridge to further strengthening their relationship with Pakistan in the defence sector. 
He proudly mentioned the glorious combatant course of the Chinese PLA in the past 86 years and warmly extolled the traditional friendship between the two peoples and the two armies of China and Pakistan. The reception proceeded in a friendly and warm atmosphere and guests extended their congratulations on the occasion of the Chinese PLA 87th founding anniversary and complimented the Chinese Army on its achievements in construction and development. A cake cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.
