Imran was ‘told’ to take the wrong turn: Hashmi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said on Sunday that party Chairman Imran Khan was told to take the “wrong turn”. He said that peaceful protest was a right of political parties but no ethic allowed the storming of parliament and Prime Minister’s House. Addressing a press conference at National Press Club (NPC) he said, “We had sent the draft of our demands to the Prime Minister who was to respond them today (Sunday).” He said Imran announced to move forward despite giving assurance to remain at the sit-in site. Hashmi said that everything was normal till Saturday evening, but he was unaware who convinced the PTI chief to move towards Prime Minister’s House. Hashmi claimed that Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and Saifullah had brought a secret message to Imran following which he announced to advance the march towards PM House. He condemned the government for using force against the protesters.
