NEW DELHI – Commenting on Pakistan Army chief General Raheel Sharif’s statement that Jammu Kashmir is jugular vein of Pakistan, India’s Congress party on Thursday claimed that the disputed state was and would always remain an ‘important part’ of India.
Congress spokesmen Randeep Surjewala said that the solution to Kashmir issue would be decided according to the Indian Constitution. “Kashmir was, is and will always remain an important part of India. Yesterday, it was the Interior Minister of Pakistan, and today, it is their army chief. They should know that the entire world knows that Pakistan supports terrorism,” he blamed.
“They are operating terror camps in and outside Kashmir,” the spokesman claimed without sharing proofs with the media. “It would be better for the army chief to look into his own country's internal affairs, rather than advising India about Kashmir,” he said.
