Sir: Abdul Sattar Edhi is known virtually as a saint in Pakistan. He migrated to Karachi with his family in 1947. Despite having no resources at his disposal, at the age of 19 he decided to help others. Today he runs one of the biggest ambulance services in the world and over 330 welfare centres across the country. He also serves humanity abroad through all possible means. I think the fate of a person is in the hands of God alone and no one else can do anything about it. A girl name Malala Yusufzai was attacked in Swat by the Taliban as she raised her voice for girls’ education. After getting shot she was operated on and it was a miracle that she was saved. Recently she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for being a brave advocate of child rights. I think Edhi too should be awarded this honour, not only because he deserves it but it will add more credibility to the Prize itself. TANIYA SAIFUDDIN Karachi
