Sir: Maulana Fazlur Rehman is seeking an alliance among different religious parties in order to stem secularism in the country. I may not be a perfect secularist, but I do not want to practice the kind of Islam that Maulana and his compatriots want to impose on the country. We all know these Mullahs were against the creation of Pakistan but they hijacked it as soon as it was created and have since been attempting to prove that Quaid-e-Azam wanted to have an Islamic state. I want to appeal to the Maulana to please keep religion away from the affairs of the state. Religion has already inflicted unprecedented harm to the country. We are renowned in the world as a country that sponsors terrorism in the name of Islam. The best advice I give to all the religious parties, especially to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, is to quit politics.
